I don't think we should boycott Amazon. I think we should endeavor, as much as it is possible for each of us, to NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN. The goal is not to pressure them to change their practices--that is unlikely to be effective (we'll get at best, cosmetic or temporary change). The goal is to drive them to bankruptcy, along with X, and Google and Open AI. There are alternative ways to buy books, and everything else; deliveries can be by US mail or UPS/Fedex. Finding better, more local or more self-provisioning ways to meet needs is good practice for when things break down further, and withdraws support from the system. We can't vote this shit away, the Dems are not much better. Oh, and don't use AI! A mass refusal to use it will cause the bubble to pop sooner, and save us from some of those data centers, along with some of the rest of the dystopias these powerful psychopaths are dreaming up.
I remember in my early corporate days, those people way way way out there in the edges of the city appeared to be *hipsters* who said crazy things & called people "corporate fascists". So I've been communicating diplomatically & mindfully, connecting one-on-one & crafting messages to get through to people this is not a protest conducted just by hipsters.
And this is one of those times where doing nothing is a bigger risk now than doing something.
More clear (and truly scary) evidence of "mainstream media's" steady move to the right under political and economic pressure from 'the right'/DJT's regime. Another really well written post Brian.
LOL ICE needs to show up at Amazon DCs and remove the hundreds of thousands of insourced illegal and illiterate truckers who are displacing American truckers, dragging our wages down, and causing needless death and destruction on our highways.
Those who would blame migrant workers looking for a way out of poverty and not the corporations cutting wages and job standards to the bone to exploit them are the ones truly doing the work of corporate power.
Great piece as ever. Just a note for readers who haven't heard of Scott Galloway: he's a real piece of, um, work. He has a good line on Amazon and shit takes on virtually everything else. I listened to one and a half episodes of his podcast because I thought the enemy of my enemy might be my friend. 😅

“Better to be a pig than a fascist” — Marco “Porco” Pagot (Porco Rosso). Great film!
Public journalism is too precious to be owned by billionaires!
Ah, yes, the enshittification of our democracy.
World, nay Olympic, class enshittification, this.

Keep doing the work of corporate power, dude.
